Regulation of Engineering Colleges

Regulations of 13000 engineering colleges in India are over. The University Grants Commission authorized all 5 universities including Anna University to provide approval to new engineering colleges and bring them under regulation. This was done by all India council of Technical Education earlier to this. The notification will be published in web site shortly according to Prof H.Devaraj, the Vice chairman for UGC, the power to approved new engineering colleges and regulate technical education is given to the universities, this was earlier handled by AICTE. The vice chancellor of Anna University prof M.Rajaram said that this would make the university more responsible regarding technical education is concerned.
