Maharashtra Cabinet approved rules for evaluation of the non-aided schools seeking grants from the state government.
Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan said it was decided in 2009 to bring 4000 permanently non-aided primary and secondary schools under government grants scheme in a phased manner.
The evaluation as suggested by a high-powered committee will be done based on three parts50 per cent for educational standards of the institution, 35 per cent for infrastructure and 15 per cent for other activities like rain harvesting, eco-friendliness and employing non-conventional energy.
