Renowned Malayalam writer and literary critic Prof M K Sanu has been chosen for this year's Padmaprabha Literary Award.
The award, instituted by Kalpetta-based Padmaprabha Memorial Trust, carries a prize money of Rs 50,000, a memento and a citation, trust Chairman M P Veerendrakumar said in a release here.
A three-member judging panel headed by Dr Punathil Kunhabdulla, Dr S Saradakutty and Rafeeq Ahamed, selected Prof Sanu for the award.
The contribution made by Sanu to the Malayalam literary and teaching field is an investment for the cultural Kerala, the judging panel opined.
Sanu had also worked as a lecturer in Kollam Sree Narayana College and Maharaja's College, Ernakulam.
