Former President A P J Abdul Kalam stressed the need to inculcate reading habits among students, especially in rural areas of the country while suggesting taking the help of technology in propagating the same.
Kalam was speaking at a concluding programme to mark the centenary year celebrations of Pune Marathi Granthalaya here.
Pune Marathi Granthalaya is a public library founded in 1911.
"We should go to the students of rural India with e-books. Also mobile library is the need of the hour. If these pupils could not get books at their place, we should go to them," he said.
