Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) conducted the graduation ceremony of the Post-Graduate Certificate in Business Management (PGCBM) programme, the Post-Graduate Certificate in Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme on September 28. The chief guest for the occasion was R S T Sai, CMD, THDC, India Ltd. Fr P T Joseph SJ, director, XIMB, delivered the welcome address.
Out of the 60 students that graduated from the PGCBM programme, the Faculty Council Gold Medal was awarded to Priti Agrawalla for securing the first rank and to Aloke Agarwal and Babita Rawat Bhanjdeo for securing the joint second rank. Out of the 16 students that graduated from the PGC(R&R and CSR) programme, the Faculty Council Gold Medal for securing the top rank was awarded to Rajeshwer Giri.
The PGCBM programme, started in 2005 in XIMB, is a one year programme designed for working executives across the country. It uses video conferencing to enable a highly interactive classroom mode of learning. It also has an intensive seven day residential programme at the XIMB campus. A customised version of the programme has been designed for the benefit of corporations.
The PGC(R&R and CSR) is India’s first one-year course on management of resettlement and rehabilitation and corporate social responsibility (CSR) co-ordinated by The Centre for Resettlement, Rehabilitation and Corporate Social Responsibility (CRRCSR) at Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB) to promote research and training in the area of R&R and CSR. CRRCSR has received the mandate from the government of Orissa to actively participate in the state’s R&R/CSR initiatives.
