Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, has inked a memorandum of understanding with Indian Institute of Energy Management, Chennai, to offer a post-graduate diploma in Energy Management in the distance education mode.
The course will focus on achieving and maintaining optimum energy procurement and utilisation throughout the organisation, minimising energy costs / waste without affecting production and quality, managing energy use, reusing and recycling energy by cascading, use of appropriate technology and reducing the avoidable losses. The course also covers renewable energy, types of energy auditing methodologies, etc.
The duration is one year, and is of the semester pattern. Any graduate with degree in science / engineering / management can enrol for the course. Registration begins on October 8.
