Debate competitions for school students

Coimbatore: The British council will organize 'Debating Matters', a contest for students of classes XI and XII .
Each school should register a six-member debate team with a debate coordinator teacher and only one team is allowed for every school, a release stated.

The first stage of the competition is an Online Elimination Test and it requires the team to register online. The team should download a topic guide and prepare for the test. The answer should be submitted online and the British Council will examine the paper. The online test will be open till August 15.

Subsequently, 12 schools will be short-listed from each region for the regional finals that will be held between November 27 and December 4.

The national finals will be held from January 14 to 16 in New Delhi.
