The Department of Computer Applications (MCA) of Rathnavel Subramaniam College (Autonomous), Sulur, has been awarded the Educational Leadership Award for the year 2011 by the Knowledge Resource Development and Welfare Group (KRDWG), New Delhi along with the Quality Initiative Mission Team, New Delhi.
According to an All India Survey conductged during June-July 2011, the department has emerged the Leader in providing holistic education in Master of Computer applications (MCA) in the State of Tamil Nadu competing with more than 70 colleges across the state and 17 states across the country to win the covetous award.
The award consisted of a Trophy and a Citation, which was presented by Prof P P Shrivastav, Honourable Member Secretary, Ministry of North Eastern Council, Government of India and Dr B S Bisht, Honourable Vice-chancellor, GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pant Nagar, Uttarakhand at a function organized at Bharthi School of Telecommunication and Management, IIT-Delhi.
Mr B Thiagarajan, Director, Department of Computer Applications (MCA) representing the College to receive the award on 11th September 2011, told, " It was the team work, self-motivation and the students' drive that has fetched such a nationwide recognition to the department. I congratulate my team members as well as the budding young minds for the constant hard work and efforts they have put in to bring such an award. It is feather added in the Departments cap."
Dr P Thirunavukkarasu, Principal, RVS College of Arts and Science (Autonomous), praised the faculty of the Department of Computer Applications (MCA) for having won the meritorious award and providing a national level exposure to the college. He wished more such laurels in the days to come.
