The Centre has promised to set up an Indian Institute of Technology in Kerala during the 12th plan period (2012-17), Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told the state Assembly.
The Institute would be set up in Palakkad district and the land required for it had already been identified, Chandy said while replying to Abdurahiman Randathani (IUML).
Chandy also said government expected to start the work on the institute next year itself.
