Three Kovai colleges get potential for excellence status

Three colleges affiliated to Bharathiar Unviersity (BU) here have been selected by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the award of 'Colleges with Potential For Excellence' status.

The colleges are PSG Krishnammal College for women and Kongunadu Arts and Sciences College (Both Coimbatore) and Vellalore College for Women, Erode, BU Vice-Chancellor, Dr C Swaminathan said in a release.
 
UGC has been providing substantial financial support to selected colleges through its different schemes, with a view to enable them to reach the World class level and serve as benchmark for other institutions, Swaminathan said.
