The Uttarakhand government will set up two engineering colleges for women in the state in view of growing interest of girls in technical education.
During a review meeting, state technical education minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said a new engineering college would be opened in Pithoragarh district while the women polytechnic college at Suddhowala in Dehra Dun would be upgraded as the engineering college, an official release said.
The minister said the government would also build hostels for girls studying in polytechnics of the state.
