The New York Film Academy (NYFA) along with Yellow Submarine Film Pvt. Ltd, is conducting hands-on intensive workshop on acting and film-making in Mumbai from November 14 to December 10.
The NYFA is one of the leading film schools in the world. The school conducts workshops in over 16 locations in the world.
NYFA conducted their first workshop in India earlier this year, with over 80 participants from various backgrounds. These students learnt the craft of film-making using the HD and 16mm cameras. All faculty, cameras, equipment were shipped from NYFA.
The workshop comprises of shoots on a daily basis giving practical insights to every aspect of the theory that is taught. NYFA also has the highest camera to student ratio. Participants are exposed to the roles and functions of all crew members in a film shoot. A group of four students is assigned a camera and each and every student of every group has to direct three films, which allows him/her to understand and execute the jobs of a film director.
Kitty Koo, vice president, International Affairs, NYFA, says, “We have successfully run workshops in over nine countries of the world in over 16 locations. Our faculty member has been travelling to various parts of the world imparting the best in class film training with the latest cameras and film equipment. India has been a country that produces the maximum number of films and there is a huge demand from film students to learn the most modern methods of film making.”
The NYFA's School of Film and Acting is honoured to be the school of choice of many luminaries in the film industry who have sent their family members to study at NYFA. They include Steven Spielberg, Al Pacino, Jodie Foster, Kevin Kline; Pierce Brosnan, Susan Sarandon and Bono (U2) among others.
Several Indian filmmakers have also sent their children to study at the NYFA. The school has been the preferred choice for many successful actors and film-makers in the Indian Film and TV industry
