Lateral entry counselling begins on July 10

Chennai: The counseling for B.E / B. Tech courses through lateral entry in the various engineering colleges of the state for the academic year

2009- 2010 commences from July 10.

According to a press release issued by the Department of Technical Education, the counselling would be conducted at Alagappa Chettiar

College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi.
In 349 engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu, 10 per cent seats are doled out, through which 15, 252 students can directly join in the second

year B.E, B.Tech courses

For B.Sc candidates, the counselling would be on July 10; for special reservation, textile, leather, printing, and chemical, it will be on July 11;

for civil it will be on July 12; for mechanical it will be from July 12 to July 13; for electrical it will be from July 13 to July 26.

Letters were being sent to eligible candidates as per availability, following merit and communal reservation, the release said. Candidates who

had applied and were eligible could appear for counselling along with their original certificates, even if they did not receive the letters, the
