Ahmedabad: Award for young educator

Just two years in the profession and she has an award in her hand! All due to the time and effort Bhumika Parmarhas invested in students of municipal Shala at Vasna. For Bhumika, challenge is not just to teach, but to encourage students to be in school to study.

Says Bhumika, "Schools till date have a one-way system of learning where the teacher teaches and the students listen." Breaking away from this practice, she puts in sincere efforts to make classroom learning interactive and fun. For those who do not wish to be teachers, her comment is: "What would have happened if your teacher had nurtured the same thoughts?"
