The chief guest for the occasion was Uday Kumar Varma, IAS, secretary, ministry of MSME, government of India. Varma said that he was happy to note that MSMEs were awakening from their slumber and believed that there will be reason enough to be very proud of our MSMEs in the coming years. He added that since the turnover of this range of village industry products was higher than that of even HLL, thus there was a lot of potential for the Design Clinic Scheme. On the quality of his interaction with the audience he commented, “It is always a pleasure to interact with a group of passionate, committed and hardworking people.”
Pradyumna Vyas, director, National Institute of Design said, “I believe the Design Clinic Scheme is the fulcrum that will create a dynamic design movement in the country. The optimistic beginning with 33 successful projects underway under the Design Clinic Scheme and a total of 80 in the pipeline within twelve months of its inception, presents an optimistic future trend for the initiative’.
