The newly set up Indian Institute of Management in Rohtak today entered into an understanding with the Kelley School of Business (KSB), Indiana University, USA to support each other in the pursuit of excellence in global business education.
The understanding includes carrying out joint research work, case utility, joint delivery of courses, academic exchanges at faculty and student level, joint supervision of doctoral work and joint conduct of conferences and workshops.
"However, the biggest opportunity in my view would be offering joint academic programmes for both working executives and fresh aspirants, based on priority over a period of time," said director of the IIM P Rameshan.
An MoU was signed in this regard between him and Indiana University President Michael McRobbie in the presence of senior official of the HRD Ministry, Rohtak MP Deepender S Hooda and those attached with the US varsity.
Hooda asked the IIM to explore possibilities of opening outreach campuses of the institute in the NCR region as it was the only IIM in the region.
Earlier in the day, IIM Lucknow (IIM Lucknow) also signed an MoU with KSB, ranked among the top B-Schools globally, to work closely in research collaboration, faculty and student exchange programme.
According to a release, collaborative case studies would be developed which would then be used for teaching purpose, design and deliver series of faculty research workshops.
The MoU will also explore the possibilities of launching a Dual - Degree Programme in Business Analytics and Global Strategy.
This Programme would be designed, developed, marketed and delivered by both the institutes and would be primarily taught at IIM Lucknow's Noida campus by faculty members from both the institutes, the release said.
