The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Case Development (CTLC) at the Indian School of Business (ISB) and Richard Ivey School of Business (Ivey), The University of Western Ontario, today announced the results of the ISB-Ivey Case Competition 2011. Over 220 faculty members representing more than 75 business schools had registered for the competition. With participation from leading Indian B-schools such as IIM-A, IIM-B, XLRI, SP Jain, MDI, NMIMS, IIT-B, as well as many upcoming B-schools, the competition reflects the growing need for India-centric case studies in the global MBA market.
The ISB-Ivey Case Competition, organised annually by the CTLC, has the twin objectives of increasing the intellectual capital of high-quality internationally benchmarked cases about Indian businesses and providing a platform for mentorship of Indian case writers by world-class faculty from Ivey and the ISB. In this context, the CTLC offers case writing and case teaching workshops annually for Indian B-school faculty, in various parts of the country. Over the years, these workshops have trained about 200 case writers, including many B-school faculty and research scholars from all over India.
The submitted cases were evaluated by a panel which included Ivey and ISB faculty members - Professors Paul Beamish and Ariff Kachra from Ivey and Professors Rajesh Chakrabarti and Arun Pereira from ISB, among others.
Authors of the winning and shortlisted cases will receive further mentorship by the author-mentor teams (one author + one Ivey/ISB faculty). Subsequently, the cases will have the opportunity to be published by Ivey Publishing as ISB-Ivey cases, and distributed worldwide through the case distribution arm of Ivey and Harvard. The competition winners will be felicitated at the AIMS Annual Management Education Convention. The top two winners will receive cash prizes of Rs 1, 00,000 and Rs 75,000 respectively.
