Kovai: 'The department of Information Technology (IT) will obtain splendid growth within four years',says Pattabiraman, a TCS official.
Dinamalar, Tamil Daily and SRM University jointly host 'Vazhkatti', an Educational exhibition, which is open to students, parents and public at Ramkrishna Kalyana Mandapam in Avarampalayam, Coimbatore.
In which, a TCS higher official, Pattabiraman spoke on the topic 'Present trends of IT,.
Few excerpts from it:
Due to the economic slowdown in western countries, the Indian communication technology sector (IT) has been greatly affected.
IT activities are based on production sectors like automobile, mechanical and chemical. Naturally the IT sector growth also declines if the activities of the production sectors slumps.
Many in America obtained loans and constructed houses, were unable to pay back their loans. As a result many banks were forced to closedown. The American insurance companies would pay for the unpaid loans of people. The insurance companies were also unable to pay the loans as scores of people had told about their inability.
India follows globalisation policy. As the global economy grows, Indian communication sector (IT) would also grow and when there is a decrease in global economy it affects our IT sector.
Indian IT companies have not sacked any employees. But they have drastically started to cut down the cost in almost all aspects .The IT companies initiated to cut down on the travel expenditure.
Employees of many IT companies are working in foreign countries; they have to be paid little more than the salary paid in India. Hence, calling the employees back to India, serving in foreign countries would help to cut down an additional expense of Rs1000 crores.
