Edudigm, an IIT Kharagpur alumni initiative held an inter-school quiz cum workshop recently, at Vidya Mandir auditorium.
A total of 60 students were selected from over 300 students, from schools all over the town. They had a chance to visit the IIT Kharagpur campus, labs, and also interact with the students, professors and alumni. The institution celebrated its 60th foundation on August 18.
The event opened with an elimination round where students, divided into groups of four, were asked to write down answers of the questions asked. This was followed by a workshop, which was an open interactive session between the students, their parents, and the experts representing the Edudigm. The students present belonged from the class VIII to class XII.
The discussions probed into topics such as examination stress, how to overcome them, remembering what one studies, how to study regularly and for how long, and certain techniques for certain subjects or topics, and so on. Students with any kind of query were free to ask the experts for their advice.
The workshop was followed by a quiz. The school which topped the qualifying round was Don Bosco School, Park Circus. The round comprised buzzer rounds and rapid fires, based on the format of Acrobat, Visual Basic, C++, and MS Express.
The top 5 out of the 15 qualified groups took part in the final quiz, in which students from M P Birla Foundation Higher Secondary School ranked first, while Laxmipat Singhania Academy ranked second.
However, all the 15 groups of students were selected to be a part of the trip to the IIT Kharagpur campus, and the top 2 teams were awarded at the end of the event.
