Dr S. Nagarathinam, Associate Professor, Department of Communication, Madurai Kamaraj University, has been nominated as member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
IUCN is the worlds oldest and largest global environmental network with its headquarters in Switzerland. IUCN involves compiling and updating list of threatened species, called "Red List".
Receiving membership from IUCNs Commission on Education and Communication (CEC), Prof. Nagarathinam is a person highly concerned about the changes happening in the segment of Environment HIV/AIDS, Health, Communications and education with over 15 years of media experience.
CEC encourages the conservation of nature through the use of strategic communication, learning and knowledge management.
Bringing governments, non-government organizations, United Nations agencies, companies and local communities together to develop and implement policy, laws and best practice, the organization supports scientific research, manages field projects across the world.
IUCN, in a communication sent to the professor revealed that with his valuable recommendation it would be possible to reach various segment of people towards bringing sustainable solutions in protecting endangered species and domains.
