India's organised sector created over seven lakh jobs in the first six months of this year and is expected to generate more than 3.69 lakh employment by September, says a survey.
According to staffing services firm Ma Foi Randstad, health care sector alone created 1,15,000 jobs in the first
half of 2011.
"The organised sector in India created 7,04,800 jobs between January 2011 and June 2011 and 3,69,200 more jobs are expected to be created by September 2011," Ma Foi Randstad Employment Trends Survey said.
In the 2011 first half, besides health care, hospitality sector generated 94,000 new jobs, followed by IT/ITes segment that created 91,000 jobs.
"The results of the survey shows that in spite of the apprehensions facing the market, employers are not shying away from recruiting, but curbing attrition is also becoming a key concern for many employers," Ma Foi Randstad's MD and CEO E Balaji said.
The survey covered 690 companies across 13 industry segments, spanning eight Indian cities. Respondents were asked about hiring plans and their views on employment market this year.
"Hiring of experienced workforce is the highest in manufacturing with 7.3 per cent in the machinery and equipment sector in (2011) first half. The health care sector, on the other hand, opened its arms for more freshers (29.7 per cent) during the same period," the report said.
Among the major cities, New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai saw generation of 1,39,700 new jobs between January and June 2011.
