Criminal action against those disrupting police exam in AP

Andhra Pradesh State Level Police Recruitment Board (APSLPRB) chairman M Malakondaiah said criminal action would be initiated against those trying to disturb the written examination for recruitment to posts of Sub-Inspectors (SIs) which are scheduled on August 13 and 14.

"Candidates are warned of criminal action if they resort to dharna or if they are found indulging in mischief inside the exams venue centres," Malakondaiah told reporters here.

He said elaborate arrangements has been made for smooth conduct of the exam which is being held to fill a total of 1,293 SI posts in Civil, Armed Reserve and AP Special Police (APSP) in the state police department.

Besides, bio-metric verification of thumb impressions of the candidates to prevent impersonation has already been undertaken, Malakondaiah said.

To a query, the SLPRB chairman said "anyone who stages a dharna and disturbs the exams inside the centre will be booked for malpractice," and added they were also writing to the state government seeking to debar such candidates from writing any further examinations for government jobs.

With pro-Telangana groups threatening to disturb the exams demanding deletion of para 14 (f) of Presidential Order of 1975, which declared Hyderabad as a free zone for police recruitment, Malakondaiah said "in this recruitment, there will be no filling of vacancies in Hyderabad City Police and hence the question of clause 14 (f) does not arise."

Exams will be held at six zones across the state at Visakhapatnam, Eluru, Guntur, Kurnool, Karimnagar and Hyderabad while the results are likely to be announced in the next three months, he added.
