Kerala HC reserves orders on plea

Updated on: Wednesday, August 10, 2011

The Kerala High court reserved orders on a petition challenging the legality of entrance examination conducted by the self-financing Medical College Management Association.

Justice Antony Dominic orally observed that the procedural irregularities on the part of P.A Mohammed committee, which is the admission fee regulatory committee, had adversely affected the students.

The observation was made on a petition by Amina Nahana of Kozhikode complaining that the entrance examination conducted by the management association was farce.

Earlier the High court had permitted the association to conduct the exam but had clarified that the admission process would be subject to final orders of the court.

When asked to explain the government stand regarding conduct of examination, the Advocate General K.P Dandapani informed that it was proper.

The court then directed the government to give its views in writing.
