Internationally acclaimed flautist Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia performed at a Hindustani classical flute recital at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), recently. The event was organised by the XIMB chapter of SPIC MACAY (Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth).
Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia was accompanied by Pandit Subhankar Bannerjee, an accomplished soloist himself, on the tabla, and his disciples from the Vrindaban Gurukul.
The students of XIMB turned up in huge numbers along with faculty members, and their family to attend the recital. The evening witnessed the performance of a number of pieces dedicated to the ongoing monsoon like the Raag Malhar, and a Thumri song. This was followed by a round of interactions with the audience in the last leg of the performance.
