Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), a sister concern of KIIT and the largest tribal institute in the country, has achieved cent percent result in High School Certificate Examination, 2009.
Total 104 students from KISS appeared the High School Certificate Examination, 2009. While 25 students secured first division, 43 students secured second division. All remaining students passed.
Janeyaz Munda, a student of KISS belonging to the Munda Tribe of Keonjhar District, headed the merit list by securing 78 per cent. This year also students belonging to tribes like Bonda and Kutia Kandha appeared in the examination. Two students of Bonda tribe and three students of Kutia Kandha tribe passed for the first time.
Dr. A. Samanta, Founder, KISS and KIIT Group of Institutions, congratulating the students and teachers for their stupendous success, said that KISS is the right platform for the downtrodden people. KISS had also recorded remarkable performance in +2 examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Orissa this academic session.
The performance of KISS is remarkable in the light of all Orissa pass percentage of only 63.41per cent in this examination. Cent percent result by tribal students of KISS reflects high quality of mentoring for tribal students in this institute.
