The HC on Friday granted interim stay in the police probe against the trustee of a school chain. A parent had filed a complaint claiming the educational institute demanded capitation fee.
A division bench of Justice B H Marlapalle and Justice U D Salvi were hearing a petition filed by Grace Pinto, trustee of St Lawrence Education Society for quashing of an FIR by the MIDC police station. The society runs 32 unaided schools throughout the country including Ryan International School.
The police issued summons to the principal of St Xavier High School, run by the trust in Poonam Nagar. The complainant, Dinesh Dubey, alleged that in 2009 the school demanded Rs 11,000 as capitation fee.
