Necessity for veterinary doctors have increased in recent times, told Palanisamy, Director of Animal Husbandary Department.
In concurrence with the completion of 250 years after the establishment of first veterinary college in the world, this year is celebrated as 'world veterinary year'.
Regarding this, a science exhibition was conducted at the veterinary college in chennai from July 29 to Aug 31. Pets march and display of colour fishes were the features of this exhibition.
Speaking at the final day function, Palanisamy, the Director of Animal husbandary Department told that 64,000 persons including school and college students participated in this exhibition, which in fact is a very good response. In recent times, attitude of public have changed towards respecting the lives of animals. As a result, the need for veterinary doctors have increased.
Doctors passing out from this institution, should respect the life of animals like humanbeings and must provide proper medicare to them. Though we have a tendency to respect animals in our culture, it is necessary to increase it further.
Vice chancellor Prabhakaran presided over the final day function of the exhibition.
