Top UK institutions and universities are ideal destinations for international students. Therefore, international students choosing to study in the UK can be assured that universities will offer expert support and advice with the visa application process, as well as an unparalleled student experience. UK universities guarantee that tier four general students have the following work entitlements:
· For degree level courses and above at higher education institutions and study abroad programmes at overseas HEIs – they may work 20 hours per week in term time and full time in holidays
· For publicly-funded FE colleges and below degree level courses at HEIs – they may work 10 hours per week during term time and full time in holidays.
· Postgraduate students taking courses longer than 12 months and government-sponsored students taking courses longer than six months are permitted to bring family members with them to the UK. Family members are permitted to work and have unrestricted access to the UK labour market.
· Students are permitted to remain in the UK for up to four months after they have completed their studies (the time depends on the duration of the main course of study).
· Graduates have the opportunity to work in the UK after their studies if they have a graduate-level job, with a licensed employer and an annual salary of at least £20,000. They may apply for a UK work visa under Tier two.
