Capstone - Institute of Training and Development in collaboration with UK Peak Performance Trainer, Jamie Edwards, organised a seminar to train the sports brains at the Hyatt Regency, Kolkata, and Dakshin Kolkata Sadan (DKS) in collaboration with The Bengal Tennis Association (BTA), recently. The seminar was attended by the who's who of Kolkata's sporting circuit. Dr V Paes, Dola Banerjee, Rahul Banerjee, Pranab Roy and Hironmoy Chatterjee to name a few.
Jamie Edwards is one of England's leading Peak Performance coaches, working with athletes, coaches and organisations, to help create the results they aspire to achieve. Edwards is a sought-after performance coach, speaker and best-selling author, and has worked with the likes of Andrew Flintoff (former England cricket team captain), Lee Westwood (international golfer), Lewis Moody (former England rugby team captain) and, Gee & Dan Atherton (world champion mountain bikers). "Today, a sport is not all about talent. Yes, it is important, but along with talent sportsmen need mental training and I must congratulate Jamie for the work that he is doing," said Hironmoy Chatterjee, general secretary, BTA.
While the seminar concentrated on preparing the minds of young sportspersons, the importance of the coaches was not overlooked. Speaking about the coaches, Edwards said, "I love working with everyone, but my true passion is to work with coaches, because they are the ones who make sure that my work is sustained. I will come and go, but they are the ones who can implement my ideas everyday."
A former international basketball player and seamless speaker, Jamie Edward not only enthralled the audience with his expertise in the topic but also helped them by preaching some very practical and important lessons of life. The main concentration of the convention was on practical training rather than theoretical studies.
