A one-day workshop on Unified Modeling Language was recently organized by the Department of Computer Applications (MCA) of RVS College of Arts and Science (Autonomous), Sulur, Coimbatore.
Ms P Vijayalakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications, School of Computer Science and Technology, Karunya University, Coimbatore was the Resource Person for the sessions.
Speaking at the workshop, Ms Vijayalakshmi briefed up on Unified Modeling Language and its advantages. She presented techniques involved in developing the use cases and class diagrams.
Students were given hands-on training to practice all kinds of modeling diagrams such as object, collaboration, activity and component.
By the end of the forenoon session students were able to draw all kinds of diagrams for various models.
In the afternoon session, the resource person influenced the students to draw diagrams using the UML tool called Rational Rose. Lots of models were discussed and students drew variety of diagrams on their own using Rational Rose.
Being much useful, interactive and informative to all the students, the workshop provided an insight into the Unified Modeling Language and its core concepts.
