Veterinary university to celebrate 250th year of profession

Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University has lined up a number of programmes to celebrate the World Veterinary Year 2011 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the profession, its Vice-Chancellor said.
 
Vice-Chancellor R Prabhakaran said several programmes have been planned to create awareness among the public on the services rendered by the veterinary professionals towards society.
 
"The veterinarians play an important role in making available nutritious food to the millions of population as well as maintaining the health of companion animals and human beings," he said.
