Students need not panic about engineering counselling

Coimbatore: It is not the choice of college or the course, but the kind of progress a student makes in his chosen course, which will ensure success in life.
Parents should respect the choice their child and should not thrust the choice of their liking upon them, P. Narayanaswamy, Head, Department of Computer Science, Anna University, Chennai, said.
Mr. Narayanaswamy stated those going for counselling should make quick decisions and to avoid unnecessary panic.

Addressing a gathering of parents and students, all eagerly awaiting to attend the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) engineering counselling scheduled for July 10.

Many those who had received the rank list recently and were pondering as to how to go prepared for the counselling, the orientation titled 'How to Face the Engineering Counselling of Anna University' came out with good queries.

He asked the students and parents to work out a minimum of 15 options of colleges and courses before going for counselling, there would be enough time to work with options with the help of counsellors who sit at the counselling terminal. But, he cautioned about those who canvas for any particular college. The decision should be entirely yours.

He advised outstation candidates to reach Chennai a day prior to the counselling date to avoid unintentional delays.
