Tamilnadu school education department plans to launch a new website soon for the benefit of people at large with details of private schools recognition and other details.
Everyyear, parents usually get confused on infrastructure facilities available in private schools with lots of schools coming up without adequate facilities like laboratories, libraries, toilets and ground facilities. After the kumbakonam fire tragedy, 2004, the state government laid some restrictions on matric, primary and nursary schools to posses certain basic infrastructure. Accordingly, matric schools were given recognition only if they had ample space and ventilation facilities. After the inspection of concern officials once in every three years, the recognition of primary and nursery schools were renewed.
The state comprises of 66 education districts totally. So far, parents do not have any authentic source to verify details of recognition and other details concerning private schools. As a result many parents struggle to find proper schools and ultimately land up admitting their child in an unauthorised bogus schools.
Shortly, the school education department plans to come out with a website www.tnmatric.com carrying information about recognition, infrastructure and other details of private schools. The department also plans to provide with the serial number to every school.
This website would facilitate parents to know clearly about the particular school in which they intend to enroll their children.
