Overseas Manpower Corporation, promoted by the Tamil Nadu government, rejects at least 37,000 applications every year due to lack of requisite job skills of students applying to it, a top official said here.
"Every year the Corporation gets about 60,000 applications of which 37,000 applications are rejected as the students lack skills," Corporation Managing Director Santhosh Mishra said here.
He was addressing a gathering at the inauguration of a Master Resource Centre,jointly set up by Chennai headquartered Everonn Education Services and National Skills Development Council (NSDC).
To make students gain employment,the Corporation proposed to train students on advanced skills in vocational institutions in the coming year, he said.
