Professor Dheeraj Gupta from department of pulmonary medicine has been elected to the prestigious fellowship of Royal College of Physicians (RCP), London. This is the highest honour which the RCP can bestow on a doctor not trained in UK and is limited to a maximum of 20 such fellows.
His academic credentials earned him a place among 10 people elected to the fellowship this year from all over the world. Nearly 500 years into existence, RCP London is one of the oldest and most prestigious academic body for physicians across the world. The honorary fellowship is awarded based on the outstanding achievements of a physician in the field of medicine. Prof Gupta has been working at PGI since 1986.
He has published over 250 research papers. He has also co-edited a text book of pulmonary medicine published recently.
