Don Bosco Institute of Communication Arts DBICA, the media wing and the communication centre of the Salesian province of Chennai, announced the launch of 7 new UG, PG and Diploma courses in Visual Communication and Design.
DBICA has been a media institute offering a variety of courses in Digital Photography, Digital Videography, Designing, Editing and Animation, benefitting hundreds of deserving students.
Art and Design (Hons), Diploma in Videography & Television Production, Diploma in Communication Design, Diploma in Animation & Visual Effects, Diploma in Advertising, Diploma in Photography and Diploma in New Media Technologies are the new set of seven courses that have commenced from this academic year 2011-12.
With an interactive presentation style, the courses have been designed to prepare the students to experiment and learn, explore newer dimensions in the study of Art, Design and media.
Speaking at the commencement of courses, Rev. Fr. Harris Pakkam, SDB, Director - DBICA, told "a solid education in Visual Communication, Design and media will help students develop reasoning skills, develop the understanding and habits of students to become compassionate human beings able to think for themselves and to face life head on. It should equip them also to participate thoughtfully with fellow citizens in building and protecting a society that is open, decent, and vital."
DBICA offers a solution to monotonous courses that do little to engage or motivate students. The various UG, PG and Diploma courses introduced in Visual communication and Design this year have been carefully structured to usher a holistic learning experience for the students. Every module innovatively designed with a team of experts and a good faculty from all over India, the courses gives ample opportunities to the students to experiment and create, and vent to their creative energy.
