Amritsar Medical college set to get its lost glory

The Government Medical College at Amritsar is all set to get back its lost glory with the Rs 182 crore modernisation plan expected to be completed by August-end.

Punjab Medical Education Minister Arunesh Shakar said here that the work was almost complete and the college would provide world class medical amenities to the patients at low rates.

 

Shakar said people would get round-the-clock modern medical facilities at world class Bebe Nanki Centre for Mother and Child Care to be set up at a cost of Rs 63.50 crores, Guru Teg Bahadur Diagnostic and Super Specialty Block and other medical complex equipped with latest medical equipment.

 

The Minister also said that Punjab government has spent Rs 34.35 crores to upgrade the health services besides installing ultra modern medical machinery, library and renovation of college buildings.
