The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHE ) will collaborate with the British Council to frame a new curriculum and teacher training programmes .
Board secretary S Dhekane said the British Council will help the state board develop and implement the state curriculum framework (SCF ) and also in teacher training programmes . "The board wants to ensure that students from the state are on par with students from other boards . Their English language and comprehension skills need to be improved . The board is therefore focusing on the teachers' training programmes . If the teachers ' skills get better , it will automatically benefit the students ," said Dhekane .
He said British Council will help the board conceptualize intensive teacher training programmes . They will also help in developing various aspects of the state curriculum framework that the board plans to implement soon . The SCF , which is drawn on the lines of the National Curriculum Framework , was to be introduced to make the curriculum more relevant and contemporary .
