Toppers find the test a breeze

The CET results came as a cent percent surprise for Pritesh Vinod Chhajed. Though he has always performed well, the 18-year-old never dreamt of topping the state joint entrance exams for engineering and health, scoring 199 out of 200 with 100% in math and chemistry.

"I expected something above 190 but not 199. This is the best moment of my life," said Chhajed, a student of J D C Bytco, Nashik. The youngster, who put in three to four hours of hard work daily, did not find the papers out of ordinary. "Sections of it were a bit difficult, but most questions could be answered," said Chhajed, who wants to study electrical or computer science engineering.

Sagar Udyavara was in his hometown Mangalore when his mother called up to say he had come second in CET. A student of M H Junior College in Thane, he has scored 198. "He spent a lot of time watching IPL and World Cup and still, he has done well," said Roshan, Udyavara's brother. About this year's exam, Udyavara said, "Compared to last year, the physics section this time was a little lengthy and slightly difficult." Inamdar Tanmay of D G Ruparel College in Mumbai also said, "It was a little difficult but did not make much of a difference." He scored 195.

Vivek Tiwari from Thane (195), Parasmita Bhattacharya from Thane (195) and Gautam Jain, Nandurbar (194) topped the medical list.
