Students flocked to Acharya Narendra Dev College to know mostly about the science courses during a counselling session on Thursday.
Apart from answering general queries of the participants at the conference hall, subject-specific faculty members also conducted one-on-one sessions.
"What is the road ahead after doing mathematics (H)?" asked Yashika, an aspirant who scored an aggregate of 80% in her Class XII. A mathematics faculty member assured her: "There will be no dearth of career progression for a student with mathematics (H). A mathematics graduate can join banking, investment or finance sector, pursue higher studies, research, or attempt civil services ormanagement studies. Teaching is another lucrative option as there is a dearth of mathematics teachers at schools in India and abroad."
The students also got to know about the science courses in all colleges. "The students who seek their future in science have plenty of options open for them. Subjects like BSc (H) in biomedical sciences, botany, chemistry, computer sciences, electronics, physics, zoology, mathematics; BSc in physical sciences with physics and mathematics are very popular among the students," said AND principal Dr Savithri Singh.
