A short term course in Film Appreciation is being conducted at Shimla from July 18-24, by the National Film Archive of India, Film And Television Institute of India and the Information and Public Relations Department of Himachal Pradesh government.
The course is open to all who are interested in film studies/activities, NFAI Director Prashant Pathrabe said.
The curriculum includes theoretical study of the art and history of cinema, development of cinema as a medium of art and communication, the technical and various other aspects of the medium.
Classics from both Indian and international cinema will be used for critical analysis and study. The course will be conducted from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm every day. The medium of instructions will be English/ Hindi.
Minimum age for participants is 21 years as on June 30, 2011 and there are 50 seats for the course, he said.
Accommodation arrangements for outstation candidates on shared basis will be made available at concessional rate in Shimla.
Application in the prescribed format should reach the Government of Himachal Pradesh on or before June 30 on the following address : Director (Information & Public Relations) Suchna Avam Jan Sampark Bhavan, Shimla. Application form can also be downloaded from NFAI's website, he said.
