The classes for the first batch of the newly inaugurated Indian Institute of Management in Tiruchirapalli will commence from June 15.
"We are taking off with the first batch in 2011-12. The class will have more than 60 students in the class," IIM Tiruchirapalli's director Prafulla Y Agnihotri told PTI over phone.
The new IIM has 12 full-time professors shortlisted from over 400 applications. "We may also recruit more professors depending on the demand," Agnihotri said.
The IIM will presently function from National Institute of Technology campus, since its 160 acre site is being built in the Trichy-Pudukottai highway. "Once it is ready, we will move there. It may take over three years to complete construction," he said. NIT campus will house IIM's classrooms and hostels.
IIM Tiruchirapalli, inaugurated in January last, is one of the seven IIMs formed in the eleventh plan.
