Arunachal Pradesh would introduce two new schemes to benefit and encourage meritorious school students and people with 100% disability in the state.
The scheme for students, would be called the Chief Ministers Talent Award Scheme, which would be awarded to toppers amongst both boys and girls in Class 10 and 12 in all schools of the state.
It would carry a cash award of Rs 10,000 and a laptop, Chief Minister Jarbom Gamlin disclosed during a meeting with government officials here.
“We believe that this will inculcate a spirit of competition and promote excellence in academics,” Gamlin viewed.
Announcing the other scheme, he said the State Disability Pension Scheme would provide for a pension of Rs 6,000 per annum to those citizens with 100% disability in both eyes or both arms or both legs.
This, he said, will be in addition to all other existing schemes for the disabled.
Both the schemes are slated to be launched within this year, Gamlin assured.
