SC/ST youth to get training and jobs: CII

Emphasising the importance of inclusive growth, B Muthuraman, president, CII recently said that affirmative action, skill development and governance would be the key areas of CII's work in 2011-12. Muthuraman was addressing media after interacting with members of CII Northern Region in Chandigarh. Giving the target for CII, Muthuraman said, "50,000 SC/ST youth would be trained and an equal number of employments would be facilitated in 2011-12." A website outlining CII members' efforts on affirmative action would be started to communicate better with the society on industry's efforts and initiatives. Also, CII will work closely with the Dalit Chamber of India.
