First-year law students of the five-year LLB course at Government Law College (GLC) spent 30 anxious minutes on day one of their examination waiting for their question paper. The question paper is sent by the University of Mumbai.
While the college officials claim that the university sent them the paper only after they called, Mumbai University maintains that GLC never sent its requirements. “We had to call the university officials to ask for the question papers. Ten minutes before the paper, they faxed us the question paper. We took out photocopies and distributed them to students,” said a GLC official. “Students were given extra time so there was no problem.”
University officials, however, denied the college’s allegation. “The question papers are sent by the university as per the requirement of the college. In this case, the college forgot to inform us about the required number of question papers. Despite that, we managed to send them the question paper within 30 minutes,” said Vilas Shinde, controller of examinations, University of Mumbai.
