Sathyamangalam: Information Technology and Computer Science related courses would continue to have good employment chances, said a leading education consultant.
Speaking after the T.N. Professional College Admission Counselling Awareness Programme, organised at the Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, he said, that the students of these subjects would be most preferred, as software companies prefer students from therein.
The counselor further said that the companies would in fact prefer IT and Computer Science Engineering students to those from other engineering disciplines, as the latest amendment to the U.S. visa rules required the companies to send only software professionals with the aforementioned two qualifications..
He, however, hastened to add that though the other engineering disciplines were
as good as IT, it was just that there were not enough job opportunities. The counsellor asked the students to choose a college not by its building or location but quality of faculty.
An official from, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission Counselling, Anna University, Chennai, asked the students to do a lot of homework on colleges and courses before appearing for counselling.
Chairman of the Bannari Amman Institute of Technology S.V. Balasubramaniam requested the parents to listen to children’s wishes before deciding on either college or course.
