School dropouts to get trainng

Tiruchi: The Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (IECD), Bharathidasan University, has signed a memorandum of understanding with a group of organisations to offer special training programmes for school dropouts.
Those with a pass in standards VIII, X and XII, college students, and unemployed youth can obtain the training.
The courses   comprise P.G. Diploma Programmes in Corporate Communication & P.R. Management, Business English Communication, Event Management, and Clinical Research Management; Certificate programmes in Human Resource Management, and Herbal Medicine, and Certificate / Diploma programme in Keyboard/Guitar/Drums.
The IECD said it will provide more computer related courses, Spoken English, Cell Phone Servicing, and Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning, and Diploma Courses in Keyboard, Guitar, Computer Application, and Computer Programming to student and non-student youth, housewives, and school and college going students with a minimum qualification of a pass or fail in standards X or XII.

The SC / ST candidates would get a scholarship, 25 per cent scholarship for MBC & BC candidates, and 100 per cent scholarship for the differently abled candidates (for those with scores above 75 per cent).

For school students from standards V to IX, the computer courses will also be offered according to a statement issued by the IECD Director K. Parthasarathy
The courses would commence on June 22 and will be conducted on all weekdays from 10 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.

For registration, candidates have to come along with their educational and school certificate / disability certificates on or before June 20.
