Students will no longer have to queue up outside the tehsil office for a domicile or caste certificate. The revenue department will coordinate directly with schools and ensure that all standard IX students fill their forms and obtain the certificates in school itself.
The certificates are necessary during admission to professional courses.
Revenue minister Balasaheb Thorat said at a press conference that the state government had decided to pick up the best e-governance practices from various collector offices and implement them across the state. Simplifying the certificate issuance process has been successfully implemented in the Thane district, said Thorat.
The various schemes will be launched on May 1, as part of the state’s golden jubilee celebrations.
Another important scheme is enabling citizens to file complaints through mobile telephony.
