The second regional centre of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in Rajasthan will become functional by next month, its Vice Chancellor V N
Rajashekhar said.
The new centre will be opened in Jodhpur, he said at a meeting with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot here.
IGNOU already has a centre in Jaipur.
Rajashekhar said the university is conducting job-oriented courses for prisoners in Ajmer and Jaipur free of cost and this facility would be introduced in Jodhpur in near future.
Gehlot suggested opening of more eduction centres in slum areas to educate poor children.
