Nearly five lakh aspirants sat for the Joint Entrance Examination of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT-JEE) in 131 cities across the country on Sunday, competing for roughly 10,000 seats in the 16 IITs and the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.
The results of the test, conducted this year by the IIT-Kanpur, will be declared on May 25, while the model solutions will be published on the IIT-JEE website on May 15.
IIT-Kanpur Registrar Sanjiv Kashalkar said the examination was held peacefully, and no untoward incident was reported from any centre.
After the results are declared, the scanned images of optical response sheet (answer scripts) with the details of the candidates will be displayed on the website, IIT-Kanpur Director S.G. Dhande said.
